10 August - Intermediate save

Editors need to save changes made to content like an AWI or a User Guide. We updated the save behavior to make it easier to save changes while not finished.

SelfGuide contains three editors, one for each type of content (AWI, User Guide and Course). When saving changes, the editor was closed and needed to be reopened to continue editing. Not helping, the three editors where slightly different in styling for the Cancel, Close, Save and Save & Close buttons. This behavior and difference did not stimulate the editor to save changes while working.

We updated SelfGuide to make the Save and Close consistent between all three editors. From now on, each editor contains two buttons:

• Save: used to save outstanding changes, no navigation will occur so changes can easily be saved when not finished
• Close: used to close the editor. If changes are not saved, the editor will be warned

As addition to make it easier to save while working, the well known keyboard shortcut Ctrl+S is added.
