18 May - Reflect open content in page title

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

SelfGuide is web-based. It is quite common to open SelfGuide multiple times in different browser tabs. In this release, we have updated which text is shown in the browser tab title. Read more about this and other changes below.

Browser tab title reflects content

The browser tab title shows the name of an AWI, a User Guide or a Course. The image below shows an example of that. This update has two advantages:

  • There is no need to open a browser tab to see which AWI, User Guide or Course is opened, as the browser tab title indicates this.
  • When copying a URL, browsers (for example Edge) will use the browser tab title to generate a hyperlink with a browser tab title instead of the plain URL.

Practice AWI (Preview)

Learning by doing instead of reading, practicing after studying, improving the return on learning when using training content: a few use cases which have led to the practice mode. A feature that directly supports the digital skill growth of users.

The practice mode looks similar to the AWI Viewer, but behaves entirely different. To continue to the next step within the Exercise, the user needs to interact and perform the correct action. Real-time feedback is shown when the user performs the correct action, Furthermore, hints are provided to help the user when they don't know the correct action. After several wrong attempts, the correct answer will be shown automatically.

The practice AWI feature has several advantages:

  • Accelerate onboarding of new colleagues by having them practice a task before working in production, even when no practice environment is available;
  • Test your own skills and get a better feeling about your knowledge;
  • Continue learning based on your skill level and practice results during an instructor-led training.
  • Don't get lost in an application when performing a wrong action while you are learning.

Practice AWI is an upcoming feature and currently in preview. If you are interested and want to know more, feel free to contact gert.kienhuis@poldervalley.com.
