30 May - Course module accessible by URL

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

There are scenarios in which you want to refer to a specific Course module. In this release, we made this possible by giving Course modules a unique URL. Read more about this and other changes below.

Access Course modules by URL

Each module of a course now has a unique URL. If the URL becomes invalid, the Course preface will be opened. Relevant scenarios for using the unique URL of a Course module are for example:

  • Sharing a Course module with a colleague.
  • Saving an often used Course module as a favorite.

Practice AWI (Preview)

Learning by doing instead of reading, practicing after studying, improving the return on learning when using training content: a few use cases which have led to the practice mode. A feature that directly supports the digital skill growth of users.

In this release, the following functionality has changed:

  • A step with a hidden step action could not be used in practice mode. New behavior has been added to inform the user about the goal of the step. No action is required, the user can continue with the exercise and the step has no impact on the exercise result.
  • Performance and stability improvements related to the verification if an Exercise is available for an AWI.
  • Update AWI functionality also updates the Exercise.

Practice AWI is an upcoming feature and currently in preview. If you are interested and want to know more, feel free to contact gert.kienhuis@poldervalley.com.

Rich text editor height improvements

The height of the rich text editor in a Course module and User Guide chapter is updated. When no content (AWI, image or file) is available in a Course module or User Guide chapter, the editor takes the full height of the pane. As soon as content is available, the rich text editor height will decrease. This behavior makes it easier to edit larger text, but also provides enough information about other content in the Course module or User Guide chapter.

Bugfixes:

  • Several windows could not be opened and resulted in a white screen when using an older version of the Recorder (specifically older then release 86).
