15 June - Course in Content Channel

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

Earlier this year, we released the Content Channels functionality to show specific AWIs only to selected groups of users. Release 88 added support for a User Guide in a content channel and this release we add support for a Course in a content channel. Read more about the Content Channels vision, best practices and risks in this article.

Using Content Channels for Course

Users might see a Course without AWI's when the user is not allowed to see the AWIs of a Course due to Content Channels restrictions. It is now possible to use the Content Channels functionality for Courses, just like AWIs and User Guides. Adding a Course to a Content Channel only effects the Course.

Practice AWI (preview)

Learning by doing instead of reading, practicing after studying, improving the return on learning when using training content: a few use cases which have led to the practice mode. A feature that directly supports the digital skill growth of users.

In this release, the following functionality has changed:

  • A step with a hidden step action is shown in practice mode with a step explanation. With this release we added the functionality to customize the explanation.

Practice AWI is an upcoming feature and currently in preview. If you are interested and want to know more, feel free to contact gert.kienhuis@poldervalley.com.

Old recorder version notification

The recorder is updated several times a year, to extend functionality, to solve bugs, to improve behavior, etc. Regular updating the installation of the recorder makes sure the product works as expected. We have added a notification indicating an old version is being used and an update is needed. This check is done each time the recorder is started till the upgrade is performed.

Bugfixes:

  • The AWI count on a User Guide tile was incorrect when the same AWI is added to different chapters
  • The AWI update window had several issues like unwanted scrolling, incorrect width of elements and not updating the new recording lane when a step is linked
