Rich text can be used to format and structure text. This new functionality makes SelfGuide content easier to use. More information about the rich text functionality and other changes in this release can be found below.
Editors can use rich text to format text (bold, italic and underline), to use numbered & bulleted lists and to add links. Rich text is available in the User Guide preface description, User Guide chapter introduction, Course preface description, Course module introduction and AWI step annotation. No changes or migrations are needed for existing texts, because the rich text functionality works well with the existing text.
SelfGuide works best when the platform is open and transparent to everyone, because this ensures that all knowledge is available for users. Nevertheless, we acknowledge that specific information should not be available to all users. For example, when information is highly sensitive.
By default, SelfGuide content is available for everyone. We have developed the content channel functionality to hide information for everyone except a specific group of users. Read more about the content channel vision and usage in the best practice article.
Currently, we are working on the content channel functionality. The current implementation only supports adding an AWI in a content channel, not a User Guide or a Course. We received positive feedback during the private preview. Therefore, we decided to release the current implementation. In the first half of 2022, the Content Channel functionality will be available for User Guides and Courses as well. Furthermore, the functionality will be updated to respect the content channels in the Feedback window.
The codebase for delivering the AWI tiles is optimized to improve performance. Performance improvements can be experienced when using the AWI Library and the Add AWI modal.
