29 November - Add content to content channel on creation

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

Content channels are used for several purposes, one of these purposes is working on draft content and keeping this content hidden from users until finished. With this release, we have added the possibility to add content directly to the desired content channels on creation. This minimizes the risk of users inadvertently seeing content they should not (yet) have access to. Read more about this and other changes below.

Add content to content channel on creation

When using content channels, it's sometimes desirable to add content directly to a specific content channel on creation. This prevents users seeing the content which is not intended to be available, and it saves the editor a few clicks. All content types (Instruction, User Guide and Course) now support this scenario.

If no content channels are available, the content channel section is not shown to the editor.

Content pack supports exercises

An instruction may contain an exercise to enable users to practice the instruction's content in addition to reading it. We have extended the content pack functionality so that exercises can be exported and imported too. In time, the downloadable content packs will be updated by partners to included exercises. For a user, an imported exercise behaves the same as an exercises created by an editor.
