18 September - Give Feedback

This article is from before the rebranding to SelfGuide. Text and images can include the old product name ProductivityPerformer or its abbreviation PP.

There are several reasons why an AWI does not add the expected value. It can be that a recording gets outdated, step descriptions are not descriptive enough or even the defined steps might not be the most effective to reach the goal. Starting from this release it’s possible to give Feedback on an AWI. The feedback is sent to the editor so the AWI can be improved and improve usage. This next few release the functionality of the Feedback module will be extended.

Align steps while merging recordings

The update recording workflow did not yet support merging and aligning two recordings with a different number of steps. This scenario does happen when needed steps defined within an AWI change, for example a new window is introduced, a field is made mandatory, a field is added to a window, etc.

The merge recording window now supports drag & drop within the recording lanes. Each step within a lane (old and new recording) can be dragged to a different spot in the lane. When dragging a step, all steps lower in the lane will be moved also to preserve the step order and existing links between steps are broken. The screenshot below shows an example where the second steps of the old recording is dragged to a new spot

Hide step

A recording might contain steps which do not add value for the user, examples are steps required for agent validation like starting the application but also a wrong click during recording. Often received feedback was the option to delete or hide those steps for the user. With this release a hide option is added within the AWI edit window. After selecting a step, the hide button (nr 1) in the action bar can be used to hide the step. For the editor this results in a collapsed step (nr 2), still selectable so it can be unhidden. The screenshot below shows an AWI where the second step is hidden.

New application icons

The list of known application is extended with more then 20 icons for applications in several branches like government, medical, education and IT. The new icons will be shown as suggestions when adding applications to an AWI. Existing applications on an AWI, previously unknown, will be shown with an icon if the name is identical to the name shown in the icon suggestion drop down box when adding new applications.
